East China refers to an area covered by six provinces and one city in eastern China, including Jiangsu, Zhejiang , Anhui, Fujian, Jiangxi, Shandong provinces and Shanghai . This region is mainly covered by plain, but also has hilly terrains and basins. It has a humid subtropical monsoon climate. The size of the area is about 794,700 sq km, and the population is 368 million (as of 2000), which is about 29% of the total in China.

East China has very favorable natural conditions, and is rich in natural resources. The region has a wide range of industries, and is China's highly developed region in economics, transportation and many other areas. It dominates in light industry, machinery, and electronics industries in China, and has an extensive network of railways, waterways, roads, and air traffic.

Destinations

Shanghai
