Grand Trekking Across The Taklimakan Desert
Summary: safari in the heart of the desert along the Hotan River across Taklamakan
Day 1
Yutian.
Arrival day at Yutian, a town in the middle of the south rim of the Taklimakan Desert.Optional services are at request to get to Yutian from Hotan,Kashgar or any other point within Xinjiang.
Day 2
Daheyan Village
After breakfast,drive 260 km to Daheyan Village which is the starting point of the grand trekking,last chance to check everything before trekking.
Day 3
the Hotan River
After breakfast trekking starts with a team of professional supports (desert guide,camel,4WD vehicle,kitchen & chef,tents etc).Trekking 25 km,with lunch in the middle, along the Hotan River before setting up tents to sleep in the night.Best photo opportunity for the splendid Sunset of Taklimakan.
Day 4 - Day 9
Taklamakan
Early wake-up to take photos of the Sunrise in the desert with everthing in bright golden color.After breakfast,trekking 25 km,with lunch in the middle, in the Taklimakan to the next camp site, full day enjoy of the desert scenes.
Day 10
Muzatug
After breakfast,trekking the last 25 km,with lunch in the middle, to Muzatug,the ending point of this grand trekking. Enjoy the stunning views of the Mazatug mountain and the populus diversifolia forest. Stay the night in tents.
Day 11
Hotan
After a relaxed breakfast, drive back to Hotan. After a hot water shower and a good rest,celebrate this grand Taklimakan achievement with a big banquet dinner show.
Day 12
Hotan
After breakfast,check out of hotel. Tour ends in Hotan. (Connections to other cities/destinations are available at request.)
